Monarch Butterfly Nature Kit (Ages 4-8)

$30.00

This nature kit was made with young kids (ages 4–8) in mind. It includes three activity books, each focused on a different part of the monarch butterfly’s story: life cycle, anatomy, and migration.

We kept the books small and separate on purpose—to keep things manageable and to give you the flexibility to introduce each topic one at a time. They’re also easy to share if you have more than one child.

Acknowledgement

We live, work, and create on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Inspired by their enduring relationship with the natural world, The Good-Natured Project is committed to learning from and honouring the teachings of First Nations communities. We strive to create art and resources that foster a shared responsibility for caring for our communities and protecting the environment.

  • We recognize the importance of honouring the past and are dedicated to contributing to the ongoing work of reconciliation and respect for the land and its original caretakers.

In October 1818, the British Crown purchased 648,000 acres from the Mississauga Nation through the Ajetance Treaty, No. 19, — the territory where The Good-Natured Project is located — in exchange for annual payments. This treaty was part of a broader context of settler influence, which led to the weakening of traditional economies and the imposition of sedentary lifestyles on reserved lands, resulting in a profound loss of cultural practices and well-being for Indigenous communities.
